Lamar County Courthouse, Part VIII

For those of you just joining us or for those of you who do not want to wade back through my blog for the previous parts of this renovation series, I have provided links for your lazy tails here: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V (The Big Momma- where I photograph the inside for the first time) Part VI and Part VII. As always, you can click on any of the photos in this blog to enlarge them.

Hello, peeps. After a few days of rain (love it), I stopped and took these photos yesterday between showers. They’re putting up the beams for the columns on the two “new” entrances and George, president of the Lamar County Historical Society, suggested me putting together a collage of photos for the ribbon cutting early next year. Sounds like a plan to me.

I’ve about decided the new entrances will be fake ones since the inside of both sides of the wings have been framed up, dry walled and plastered already. I don’t see them busting a hole in a wall they just plastered, or at least, I hope not. As usual though, we shall see what happens.
