Another Foggy Morning
We had quite a night last night weather wise. We didn’t get the tornadoes and damage that some areas of Mississippi got but we got enough rain, wind, lightning and thunder to wake me up hour after hour. I finally just got up at 6 before my alarm went of and started getting ready for work. That afforded me enough to time to take the following photos before leaving this morning, bleary-eyed as I was. I promised y’all more daffodils photos and here they are.
Here is a miniature version I got from a variety pot with tulips and hyacinths a few years back:
The spider webs in the grass were heavy from the rain and the sun was lighting them up like stage lights on sequins.
I have no idea what kind of moss this is but it grows in the shade under trees and throws up these little arms. When you pull the “arms”, a whole wad of the moss comes up with it with a layer of soil underneath. A perfect slice of mother nature’s lasagna. I couldn’t help but pull up a layer of the moss under the oak tree we had in our yard as a child. I was and still am fascinated by it.
This Bridal Wreath (Vanhoutt Spirea) on the left hand side of the photo is the second thing that buds out and blooms in our yard in the spring, with the daffodils being the first. When this thing is in full bloom, each “weeping” branch is covered from trunk to tip with hundreds of small white clusters of tiny individual blossoms which looks like a bouquet. It looks like it’s snowing when it’s covered in blooms.

Did you also notice the hyacinths out there by the daffs? They are starting to pop their little heads out of the soil to. This is funny because the SAME morning you did this I was ALSO out there taking pix and Daddy says, Cindy already did that this morning to. ;)

ReplyDeleteI applaud your metaphor. :)
