I disappeared from the blog-o-sphere…

Life is getting in the way of blogging. Dad had hip surgery and recovered. I was made chairperson of the Communications Commission at church and I don’t know if I’ll recover from that. (JOKE!!!) A whole new job was given to me at the office and I’m making them take off duties that other folks can do in order for me to recover from that. Mama has been sick for almost a month and is recovering. Macho Man passed away and neither The Dubya nor myself have recovered. RIP Randy.

There are respites, however. Such as the fact that it rained today. I made a Prince Channel on Pandora yesterday and had smoked pork loin the day before that. We’ve got fresh tomatoes, cukes, squash and watermelon. Life is good.

Then, you know, some things never change. My toes are still the shape of a 1980’s dress shoe. This is because my parents were Youth Directors at church for 8 years (I think?) and we were there every time the doors were opened. Church was old school. You didn’t wear jeans to Greenville. Stockings. Slips. Dresses. Pumps. Big huge bow either on your hip, your butt, your chest or in your permed hair. Ah, the 80’s.

Shoe back then:

I don’t think I’m going to far by saying that the 80’s left an impression on me.

  1. That should be "too far" not "to far" in that last sentence. I've just committed one of my worst pet peeves.
