They Taught Me

Thomas Jefferson told John Adams in 1815, “I cannot live without books; but fewer will suffice where amusement, and not use, is the only future object.”

I might have been able to live without books but I do not know what kind of life I would have had. A dang boring one, I imagine. I uploaded these two graphics to Pinterest to show what the characters of each of these books (and/or series of books) taught me over the years. Books change lives. I’m living proof of it.

  1. Re Wuthering Heights.... EXACTLY. I never wanted to go to a moor so much in my LIFE (and still do...) than when I had read that book. And as horridly vengeful as Heathcliff could be... yeah. I'd do him. (ooh, did I say that?)
