Well, FINE THEN!!

I’ve tried for quite a while to post a note on Facebook about this and Facebook won’t let me. FINE THEN! I’ll make it a blog. Take that, Facebook.

A friend’s cousin is doing this for a WWII Vet and is asking for letters, thanking him for his service to us. His name is Howdy. He is 88. All it takes is a few moments and the price of a stamp. Please pass this one to others who will write him a letter. Read below:

On May 14th, I'm sponsoring a WWII Veteran and flying with him along with 39 other veterans to the various WWII monuments in D.C. Many Vets have not experienced these monuments and this program makes it happen.

This is the Honor Air Program. My veteran's name is Rufus Houdyshell (goes by Howdy). He is 88 years old and served in the Navy. It's a one day event and we return home that same evening. One of the special items we do for these Vets is called "Mail Call" and it's done on the way home.

Each Vet will receive a folder full of letters from family, friends and others that they don’t even know. They are not aware of this part of the trip. To make sure these Vets know how much we appreciate their service we are asking ANYONE to write a short letter (even though you don't know Howdy) to say "Thank You" for his sacrifice and service. It only has to be a few sentences.

The letters need to be received by May 7th. Please consider taking 5 minutes to write a letter for this Vet. The address follows:
Morgan Gilreath
Chairman, Volusia Honor Air Flight #7
821 Westchester Drive
DeLand, Florida 32724

PLEASE MAKE THE LETTERS TO "Howdy" but send the letter to Morgan Gilreath. Would really appreciate it if any of you would like to send a quick note to "Howdy"!!
